A Mother's Mission

Founded by Vicky, a mother of four, AussieZinc was born from both personal frustration and parental concern. Living in Australia, where sun protection isn't optional, Vicky faced a familiar dilemma: how to protect her children from harmful UV rays without exposing them to harsh chemicals.

The Challenge

Traditional zinc sunscreens, while natural, were thick and unwearable, leaving a ghostly white cast. Additionally, Vicky's personal struggle with 'sunscreen acne' highlighted the need for a better solution that wouldn't block pores or irritate sensitive skin and being able to fix her eyeliner without tears streaming down her face from the chemicals irritating her eyes would be a bonus!

The Solution

Besides the formula being dermatologist tested and manufactured according to Australia's high standards for sun protection, Vicky spent months testing AussieZinc on her family and friends. It was an instant hit with friends and at sports events, and she knew that AussieZinc was ready to go to market after her 12-year old twins returned from a 5-day school camp at the beach with not a hint of sunburn. They excitedly shared that their teacher had asked them what sunscreen they were using, as even the teachers had struggled after a week at the beach!
